This January 1st, we will conclude the 21 day meditation challenge. How about celebrating our joy of completing the challenge by lending a helping hand to someone in need? Our Guru says it is in giving that we receive . How wonderful it would be if we can start 2021 by giving food or sponsoring education or in any other way where we bring joy to others? These thoughts are the reasons behind taking this “Joy of Giving” initiative.
Total Number of people who participated in the initiative: 57
Money pooled: Rupees 57,458
List of donors can be found at – https://spiritualityisawayoflife.com/joy-of-giving-contributors-list
In any financial activity transparency is very important. So, below are the complete details along with receipts on how this money is spent.
Factors considered while choosing the cause
1.Trustworthiness of the organization: Money is a valuable resource and as a donor, it is our responsibility to make sure that money is spent rightly. So, I have spent considerable amount of time in making sure that the organizations I choose are trustworthy.
2.Impact of the donation: Impact of the donation can be short-term or long-term. A short-term impact is like feeding people, where hunger is satisfied. Long-term impact is something like a livelihood initiative which brings positivity for years. Both are equally important but I choose 85% of the money to go towards long-term impact creating projects because these projects bring recurring good karma for years and create positive impact on groups of people.
3.Number of beneficiaries: Individuals are as important as group of people but when money is limited, its wise to impact groups than individuals. So, I choose only those projects which focus on group of people.
4.Type of Good Karma: Pranic Healing teaches the systematic way of donating money. I tried my best to stick to this teaching. So, I covered various categories like mother nature, project of Guru, orphanage, livelihood, food, health.
